the thing about moving all your life is you leave little bits of your past around the world and you THINK you close that chapter as it is when you leave, but when you start looking back the book isn't the same.
things change,
people move on.
and if you don't too, you're gonna be left behind.
it's taken me probably 18 years to actually understand what people have been saying all these years. time doesn't wait for anyone.
the past is the past so as cliche as it might sound, no more crying over spilt milk, go hard or go home.
no regrets.
i think i'll still listen to songs with sad lyrics just because though. hahahhaahah
but seriously,

Dear Singapore,
you are the same as I always remembered, I'll always remember. the food, the people, the heat. the food, the people, the people. the people the people the people... every time i come back here i wonder if giving up NS was worth it but i guess i'll never know huh. WELL, i wish you the best of luck over the next year and when i come back next year we'll catch up, once again.

for those of you who haven't, go look up 'justkiddingfilms' on youtube, watch the 'unco same gets jacked' then watch parts 1,2 and 3 of the unco story. hahahah it is hilarity. EPIC lols
anyway, haven't blogged in a while because THE HSC HAS STARTED!!! :S in other news, my sister cut my hair the other day :O but instead of showing you a picture, i will instead fill up my blog-space with my creative writing piece i prepared for English Paper 1's Journey's module for the 'escape'
I love my job, it takes me everywhere.
Paris. the glitter covered catwalk stretched deep into the room, coloured spotlights lining it's shape on the ceiling. i position myself at the end of it and wait for the lights to go out. cheering from fans, friends and over-appreciative men fill the room, doubling in volume when the first model steps onto the catwalk. the flashing lights make the tall french model seem even taller and the many other camera flashes seem to magically alter her costume everytime I look up. As she neared the edge, i shout "confidence, that's it!' Snap. her luscious blonde hair flares up as she changes her pose. Snap. "Great smile, great smile.' i yell out and as she turns to walk away, she looks behind her shoulder and winks...
Tokyo. The sky is littered with stars but the neon lights from the outdoor fashion parade steal away their natural beauty. The constant changing of light intensity and patterns imprint coloured shapes into my eyes, painting a different picture in my head each time I blink. Hundreds of people rushing about – teenagers talking about shopping and games while food stall owners yelling out discounted prices for delectable street snacks – with their voices combining to sound almost like shouting. Struggling to keep my balance, I take every moment that I am not bumped against as an opportunity to snap a photo, with cheeky teenagers occasionally jumping into the background with childish poses. ‘just a few more hours…’ I think to myself.
New York. I pull out a few lenses and adjust accordingly to suit the lighting. Christine, an emerging model nervously removes her jacket to reveal a lovely summer dress. She gives me a worried look to await my nod of approval. A strong wind blows against it, making her look somewhat like a flag pole as the flower patterns of her dress flap against her bony frame. Leaning back, I capture her awkward poses as the 2 other models giggle at Christine’s shyness. Snap. I take another priceless picture of Christine fixing her hair. Snap. One more before she covers her ears to shut out the sound of the airplane flying above us. All of us pause and follow it's path with our eyes...
Home. I pull out a folder and enter the dark room. Carefully, I slide each film sheet gently into the solution and I watch as clear images of the models faces form, with extravagant costumes decorating the rest of the picture. I smile to myself, turn off the lights and close the door behind me. Reaching for the remote controller, Closing my eyes, I fall into my sofa, it’s large cushions absorbing my tired aching body. As I about to enter the tranquil realm of sleep, a sudden high pitched laughter cuts through the air, making me snap my eyes open and look towards the source of the sound. My mind tells me to calm down as I realize it is only the television. Relieved to find no flashing lights, no hustling of people and no forces of nature to deal with, I embrace the serenity of it all, the blissful escape from my hectic job.
I love my job. It takes me many places; Paris, Tokyo, even New York. Then, it takes me home.
